Newport Pell bridge | Newport, Rhode Island

Atsalis Brothers Painting performed the cleaning and painting work for the east approach of the Newport Pell suspension bridge over the Narragansett Bay in the City of Newport, Rhode Island.

The areas where the work was performed include the deck truss spans and the girder spans of the east approach.   The bridge railing was also cleaned and painted for the concrete beam spans between the girder spans to the east abutment.

 

 

 

Robert Norris Bridge | White Stone, Virginia

 

 

 

 

 

 


The work is under contract with Virginia Department of Transportation. The project involves cleaning and coating the structural steel surfaces on the Robert O. Norris Bridge which carries Route 3 over the Rappahannock River between Lancaster and Middlesex Counties in Virginia. The Contract Completion Date is November 30, 2012. There is approximately 1.2 million square feet to be painted under this contract.The surface preparation includes power washing to remove chlorides followed by a blast meeting SP-10 requirements. An organic zinc/epoxy/urethane paint system will be applied to the structure.The structure was built in 1957 and the length is approximately 10,000 feet.
State Route 281 Over the Maumee River | Defiance, Ohio
The work was under contract with the Ohio Department of Transportation. The panerai replica italia Contract was completed in August, 2008. There was approximately 115,000 square feet painted under this contract.The surface was prepared to meet the requirements of SP-10. An organic zinc/epoxy/urethane paint system was applied to the structure. The 7 span girder structure was 1,007 feet long. The QuikDeck Platform System was utilized for this project.

Canon McMillan Bridge | Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania

 

Atsalis Brothers Painting completed the removal of lead based paint and coating of existing structural steel. The under deck platform was designed, furnished and installed by Atsalis Brothers to meet both the Prime Contractors need for an access platform to complete structural steel repairs and as shielding for the over roadways below Replica Ballon Bleu de Cartier.The K-frame leg scaffolds designed for Prime contractor to provide access for structural steel repairs adjacent to live traffic. Heating and housing provided by Atsalis Brothers Painting for the casting of the superstructure concrete and completion of painting during winter months.
South End Bridge - Route 5 Over Connecticut River | Agawam and Springfield, Massachusetts
The work is under contract with the Massachusetts Highway Department. The Contract is planned to be completed in 2011.There is approximately 500,000 square feet painted under this contract. The surface was prepared to meet the requirements of SP-10. An organic zinc/epoxy/urethane paint system will be applied to the structure. The 9 span structure is approximately 1,576 feet long. There are two girder spans totaling 126 feet and seven truss spans totaling 1,450 feet. The QuikDeck Platform System is being utilized for this project.
Gateway I-96 and I-75 | Detroit, Michigan
The work was completed under a federally funded contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation as a subcontractor to Walter Toebe Construction Company.The project consisted of cleaning and painting 10 bridges on I-96 and I-75 in the City of Detroit.
Contract was completed in November, 2009
There was approximately 580,000 square feet painted under this contract.
The surface was prepared to meet the requirements of SP-10.
An organic zinc/epoxy/urethane paint system was applied to the structure.
Superior Dam Rehabilitation | Ann Arbor, Michigan
The work was under contract with the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Contract was completed in March, 2009. The surface was prepared to meet the requirements of SP-10. A zinc/epoxy/urethane paint system was applied to non-immersion steel and a zinc/epoxy/epoxy paint system was applied to immersion steel. Completed work included blasting and painting of the sluice gate components and dam walkway structure; gate seal replacement; gate hoist chain replacement; fall protection equipment installation.
