The work is under contract with Virginia Department of Transportation. The project involves cleaning and coating the structural steel surfaces on the Robert O. Norris Bridge which carries Route 3 over the Rappahannock River between Lancaster replica cartier and Middlesex Counties in Virginia. The Contract Completion Date is November 30, 2012. There is approximately 1.2 million square feet to be painted under this contract.The surface preparation includes power washing to remove chlorides followed by a blast meeting SP-10 requirements. An organic zinc/epoxy/urethane paint system will be applied to the structure.The structure was built in 1957 and the length is approximately 10,000 feet.
